With Cadbury and Nestle and now lots of foreign brands occupying retail shelf space poor Amul Chocolates are hardly visible.

Loved your post sharing of chocolates in my kid days was almost like how you did it - always landing up with the lions share.

Cheers!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14545899.post-1568310513238671982010-11-11T09:00:56.781-08:002010-11-11T09:00:56.781-08:00Did you even get Swaad here in the Indian grocery ...Did you even get Swaad here in the Indian grocery stores?Deepikahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09784272169077669895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14545899.post-46187147295798483452008-06-23T18:04:00.000-07:002008-06-23T18:04:00.000-07:00You never had Nestle Milkybar. Whenever someone ate Five Star infront of me, I used to make vomiting-like sounds & actions to let them know what I think they are actually eating. All chocolate freaks must be shouting "How disgusting". Well, I would say, yes it is.
However, I used to play "Jolie" with my friends to win candies/toffies. When I was a kid, I would pester my dad to bring me chocolate when he came back from the office (yeah, in my 5 year old head, my dad went to the office just to bring me back candy)...so my dad would return from the office, and I'd run around his legs asking if he brought me chocolate. He would hand me a packet of Gems and I would be excited and nibble at a few Gems. Then my mum would take the packet away from me to "keep it safe" in the fridge for me. My dad would then wake up the next morning, put the same old packet of Gems in his pocket and hand it to me that evening when I asked him if he brought me my chocolate. I never wisened up. For the longest time I believed the fridge at home contained an endless treasury of half eaten Gems packets. I actually prefer the Cadbury's 5 star and Dairy Milk I used to have back in India..no milk chocolates in the US either.
