A Second Kid?

For the longest time, I have considered starting another blog. I have wondered if there could be separate blogs for my travel, my cooking skills (or the lack of it), my 2 cents on the movies I see and the books I read, and most importantly, a blog exclusively on the city stuff I do. You see, at some point, I started to explore more of seattle, try out new eateries, go to new cafes, explore the beaches, and so on. I have even considered having a photo blog. So I am talking about at least 5 new blogs here. But did it happen?

Some of you will realize that when I shifted here, I started parallel blogging exclusively on seattle. But it didn’t work out. You see, maintaining a blog takes a lot of care. One, you must be regular. Two, you must be able to make a connection with the readers, and maintain it (at least try). I maintained parallel blogs for a year and saw that one of them is always the neglected one. It puts the readers in a dilemma too because now instead of clicking on one link, they have to click on multiple links.

For the longest time, I have debated about whether to maintain multiple parallel blogs exclusively on my travel, city exploration, pictures and so on. But I think I am more inclined towards putting it all out there in one blog. Lack of time, less organizational skills, etc. are some of the reasons. So henceforth, you will read all of it here. There will be new tags of course. But even after being inclined towards multiple ones, I think I will stick to this one. I don’t think I can handle the responsibility of a second child as of now.

And I must confess, I still wonder how people maintain travel blogs. Honestly, I have tried it multiple times, but just the idea of memorizing all the places you went to and all the things you did is discomfiting. If anyone can give me ideas about writing a good travel blog, I will be grateful. For the next few months will see me travelling a lot, and I hope to share my experiences here.

Initially when I started blogging, even I wanted to have more than one blog like a photo blog etc. But then as you mentioned, maintenance is an issue.

However, recently I have been contemplating starting another parallel blog. The reason being that I want to write sports posts and if I write all of them on my existing blog, it might bore a lot of readers ;)

When I write travel posts, I generally do not describe a lot in detail. I mostly let the pictures do the talking. And throw in a few lines here and there for the pics. Here's my similar post.

Gosh! Long comment there :D

Cheers!!

my logic for having only one blog is that thots are not segregated into different areas in our brain..why then do it online!!
